Train Museum

We took Landon to the Santa Fe Railroad Train museum in Temple this weekend.  “Yay I go see Trains”  This Train museum is quite pathetic compared to the one in Sacramento but that didnt phase Landon one bit, he had a blast crawling all over the steamers he calls them.  It was a nice day, it wasnt blazing hot like it normally is here.  It was nice to finally get out of Killeen and see something different.

Cited Momma

Daddys long awaited arrival home was early tuesday morning.  I honestly dont think Landon could have survived another day.  He has  had a very emotional couple of weeks, it was hard to see him that way and not be able to help.  He has been getting into a bit of trouble at school which is upsetting to me because he is usually so good.   When Jason left I let his teachers know it was going to be hard on Landon and I really dont think they took any of that into consideration.  It really has made me think alot about wether or not my working is having more of a negative effect on him.  Beleive me I know my child is no angel and I dont want him to get special treatment because I am a employee there but he is 2 and 2 year olds will be 2 year olds.  I am going to give it a few weeks and if things dont get better I may just stop working.  I am hoping its just a phase and that he will come out of it soon.  Once Jason leaves in January I think Landon and myself are going to need something to keep us occupied.  But back to Daddy.  When I told Landon Daddy will be home tommorrow he said ” cited momma”.   We got home and as soon as we walked in the door you heard “Come on Daddy come play in my room”  “come on Daddy”.  So I went to work and left them to the manly bonding.  Needless to say Landon is so super excited to have his Daddy home.

BUSTED!

So my child committed his first trully expensive act of defiance.  I very rarely leave my child unattended just so things like this dont happen.  Last sunday I was doing my motherly duty of putting laundry away, I was in Landons room hanging up clothes when I heard something thumping against another something.  As I entered the living room I see Landon with a candle holder in his hand staring at the T.V.  This is the T.V. that we havent even had a year yet mind you.  As I look at the T.V. I immediately crumble to the floor.  Landon cracked the T.V. screen leaving a rainbow of lines up and down the middle of the screen.  I trully wanted to runaway at this point.  Landon was having an extremely bad weekend due to the fact that Daddy is gone and this was just the flipping cherry on top.  And ofcourse since the warranty doesnt include unrully 2 year old we are poo out of luck.  When asked ” WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT TO DADDYS T.V.”  his response with a wrinkled brow and pouty lip was “MY DADDY”  Its pretty bad when you look forward to a week at work with 18 screaming and crying 3 year olds over being confined to the house for a whole weekend with your own child, and thats exactly how I felt.  THIS IS WHY WE DONT HAVE ANYTHING NICE!

Pre-School

For those of you who dont know I started working back in June.  I am a pre-school teacher at a place called The Learning Zone.  The most appealing part of this job is the fact that Landon is right across the hall.  The pay is horrible but Landon is doing SO good.  The first day I went to work was so emotional for me, having to trust somebody else with my baby boy for the first time in 2 and a half years was extremely hard.  But we have both come a long way.  He is learning so much and is making new little friends.  He has turned into such a little boy.  I only work from 7am until 2 pm and he is napping from 11:30 until I pick him up. There is no way I would have him there all day long.  He is so smart, he comes home counting in spanish and doing sign language.  I have a class of about 18 3 year olds, yeeeeaaaahhhh I had a completely different idea of 3 year olds and lets just say Landon is going straight from 2 to 4.  But overall we are both doing really well, it gets us both out of the house and keeps us occupied when Jason is away.

Jason

This last week Jason was finally promoted to the rank of E7 or Sgt First Class, this is something that he has been waiting for for a long time now.  I am not the only one who thinks that it should have happened sooner.  Landon and I were at the ceremony and I got to pin him with his new rank, something I have never gotten to do before.  It was nice to hear the great things that his fellow soldiers had to say about him.  I know he is a great soldier and that his time away from Landon and I is not a waste.  He left Last night for JRTC in Louisiana, he will be there for about a month.  This time it is going to be alot harder for Landon, he loves his daddy so much.  So I am going to do everything I can to keep him occupied and help the time go by faster for him.

being the paranoid mom that I am, I got up to check on Landon about 3 times the first night he slept in his new bed.  Jason also checked on him a few times as well.  The first time Jason went in Landon was dangling off the bed so Jason fixed him.  When I went to check on him he was on the floor so I just covered him up and went back to bed.  When I woke up in the morning Landon was under his bed sound asleep.  So I went to the living room for a bit,  When I went to check on him again he had gotten up and crawled back into his bed.  He is such a good boy when it comes to sleepy time.  Even without the bars of a crib he will not get off of his bed until Jason or I go in to get him, we have a great kid.

Landons big boy bed

so Jason and I recently decided that it was time to get Landon and new bed.  He was getting way too big and too old for his crib.  I ordered these awesome tractor sheets from the company kids store, they  have tractors on them.  Anyone who knows Landon knows that he has a slight obsession with tractors and any kind of heavy machinery.  So I had surfed the web for a toddler bed and had one all picked out to order when I was driving home from a saturday morning donut run and and spotted a garage sale with 2 toddler beds.  I normally dont stop at garage sale but what the heck.  So in stead or paying $160 we paid $25.  After scrubbing and disinfecting the bed about 3 times we had it all set up and ready to go.
